Job summary

TIC_Craft is seeking a skilled structural steel erector to layout, install, assemble, and erect steel components according to blueprints and industry standards. The role requires working at heights, operating hoisting equipment, and ensuring precise alignment.

Responsibilities include fabricating parts, rigging for lifts, cutting and welding steel, and supervising work to meet contract specifications while maintaining safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred with relevant field experience.
• Strong working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow and communicate written and oral instructions.
• Proficiency in safe and efficient use of electrical, hand, and power tools, layout and measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Reads specifications or blueprints to determine locations, quantities or sizes of material required.
• Fabricates metal parts such as steel frames, columns, beams, or girders from blueprints.
• Unloads and positions prefabricated steel units for hoisting; guides hoisting operations.
• Verifies alignment of structural steel members using plumb bobs, lasers, transits or levels.
• Cuts, bends or welds steel pieces using shears, torches or welding equipment.
• Positioning and bolting structural-steel members for final riveting, bolting or welding.
• Assembles hoisting equipment or rigging to move heavy equipment or materials.
• Estimates sizes, distances and quantities; computes time, costs, resources or materials.
