Qualifications

• Reads specs or blueprints to determine material locations and quantities.
• Has practical knowledge of bolts, welding, and fabrication processes.
• Follows safety rules and project instructions precisely.

Responsibilities

• Reads specifications or blueprints to determine locations, quantities, or sizes of material.
• Fabricates metal parts per blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Unloads and positions prefabricated steel for hoisting; operate crane signals.
• Verifies alignment of structural steel members using plumb, laser, or levels.
• Cuts, bends, or welds steel pieces with torches or welding equipment.
• Positions structural members and bolts for permanent riveting or welding.
• Assembles hoisting equipment to move heavy materials.
• Estimates sizes, distances, and quantities; assesses time and materials needed.
• Inspect workers' output for compliance and correct deficiencies.
