Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company seeks skilled ironworkers to lay out, install, assemble and erect structural steel per blueprints and industry standards. You will read specs, fabricate parts, position and secure steel members, and operate hoisting equipment on site.

The role requires endurance for outdoor industrial environments and willingness to work overtime as needed. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong safety awareness, and proficiency with hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred with field experience.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Reads specifications or blueprints to determine locations, quantities, or sizes of material required.
• Fabricates metal parts such as steel frames, columns, beams, or girders according to blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Unloads and positions prefabricated steel units for hoisting; signals crane operators to lift and position structural steel members.
• Verifies alignment of structural steel members using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, or levels.
• Cuts, bends, or welds steel pieces using shears, torches, or welding equipment.
• Forces structural steel members into final positions with turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, or hand tools.
• Pulls, pushes or pries structural steel members into approximate positions for bolting or welding.
• Bolts aligned structural-steel members in position for riveting, bolting, or welding.
• Assemble hoisting equipment or riggings to move heavy equipment or materials.
