Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Reads specs/blueprints to determine material locations, quantities, and sizes.
• Fabricates steel parts (frames, columns, beams, girders) per blueprints.
• Unloads and positions prefabricated steel units for hoisting with crane signals.
• Verifies alignment of steel members using plumb bobs, lasers, or levels.
• Cuts, bends, or welds steel pieces with torches or welders.
• Positions steel members using turnbuckles, jacks, or hand tools.
• Bolts structural members for permanent riveting, bolting, or welding.
• Assembles hoisting equipment to move heavy materials.
• Estimates sizes, distances, and quantities; time and resources needed.
• Inspects subordinate's work for compliance and corrections.
