TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking a skilled field worker to lead layout, installation, and steel erection on construction sites. You will read blueprints, set up hoisting, weld, bolt, and align structural members while adhering to safety standards and project specifications.

Qualifications

• Reads blueprints to determine material locations, quantities and sizes.
• Fabricates metal parts per blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Unloads and positions prefabricated steel units for hoisting and rigging of beams and columns.
• Verifies alignment of structural members using plumb bobs, lasers or levels.
• Cuts, bends or welds steel pieces with torches or welding equipment.
• Positions structural members using turnbuckles, jacks or hand tools.
• Bolts members for permanent riveting, bolting or welding.
• Assembles hoisting equipment and riggings to move heavy components.
• Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities for work activities.
• Inspects work for contract compliance and addresses deficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Read specifications or blueprints to determine material needs.
• Fabricate metal parts according to blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Hoist and position steel units and guide crane operators.
• Check alignment with plumb lines, lasers, or levels.
• Cut, bend, or weld steel pieces as required.
• Move structural steel into final positions and secure them.
• Bolt or rivet components in place for permanence.
• Set up hoisting equipment and rigging for heavy loads.
• Estimate sizes, distances, and time/resources for tasks.
• Inspect subordinates' work and correct deficiencies.
