Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Certified Structural Steel welding (AWS CWI) and Coatings (AMPP / NACE / SSPC Level II) Inspector for assignments based in New Mexico, Utah, or Arizona. Travel across the US and Canada is expected; experience with AWS D1.1 and D1.5 is preferred.

Immediate contract engagement with long-term opportunities is anticipated. The ideal candidate will have rigorous physical stamina and the ability to work independently in diverse field conditions, including long hours

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 9 years of post-education inspection experience.
• NACE/AMPP or SSPC Coatings Certification Level II.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification.
• Must be willing to travel, including overnight stays when out of town.

Responsibilities

• In QA role, perform structural steel fabrication inspections in shop and field.
• Monitor surface preparation, cleanliness, environmental conditions, paint kit mixing and applications for compliance.
• Communicate with owners, fabricators, engineers, NDT technicians and coating professionals.
• Write daily shop/field reports in digital format.
• Participate in safety meetings.
