Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Certified Structural Steel Welding Inspector (AWS CWI) and Coatings Inspector with NACE/AMPP Level II certification to join our team. The role involves travel to New Mexico, Utah, or Arizona, with long-term assignment and potential Canada travel.

The ideal candidate has 9+ years of field inspection experience and is physically capable of demanding work. The position emphasizes QA in structural steel fabrication, coatings, NDT, and field reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Minimum of 9 years of post-education inspection experience.
• NACE/AMPP or SSPC Coatings Level II certification.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• Must be able to travel, including overnight stays when out of town.
• Strong communication skills; ability to work independently and with others.

Responsibilities

• QA role in structural steel fabrication activities in shop and field.
• Perform welding inspection, NDT, coatings, and review materiel test reports against contract documents.
• Monitor surface preparation, cleanliness, environmental conditions, and coating applications for compliance.
• Communicate with owners, fabricators, engineers, NDT technicians, and coating professionals.
• Write daily shop/field reports in digital format.
• Participate in safety meetings.
