Job summary

IMEG Corporation in Urbandale, IA is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to lead design efforts for a range of projects and collaborate with senior staff across Midwest offices. You will deliver engineering solutions through analysis, design, and oversight of structural systems for buildings and other structures.

Responsibilities include client communication, budgeting, scheduling, and mentoring, with travel up to 10% and a full-time hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering; required
• PE license preferred
• 2 years min experience, 4 preferred in the building design consulting industry

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis and design of structural systems using a variety of building materials.
• Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
• Work with clients to understand project needs, gather requirements, and communicate technical information effectively.
• Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
• Support consulting project execution as part of a project team.
• Lead project planning, budgeting, and scheduling efforts to meet deadlines and objectives.
• Document design decisions and client instructions, and monitor design progress related to percent complete and fee expended.
• Analyze engineering problems and develop practical, efficient solutions with senior engineers and consultants.
• Perform in-process reviews of structural designs, calculations, and specifications, and implement quality control processes to meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements.
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and structural engineering best practices, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
• Prioritize safety, act ethically and professionally, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.
• Identify potential project problems, seek advice from the Project Manager, and support projects through bidding, design, and construction administration phases.
