Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Greenville, MS is seeking a skilled structural erector to lay out, install, assemble and erect steel according to blueprints, specs and codes. You will use cranes, rigging, and hand tools to position members and verify alignment on heavy industrial projects.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, fabricating or preparing components as directed, ensuring safety, and supporting assembly teams during complex construction tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; prior field experience preferred.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Proficient in safe use of tools and measurement devices on construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Reads specifications or blueprints to determine material locations and quantities.
• Fabricates or prepares metal parts per blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Unloads, positions and hoists steel members using cranes and rigging.
• Verifies alignment of steel members using plumb bobs, laser, transits or levels.
• Cuts, bends or welds steel pieces with appropriate equipment.
• Assembles hoisting equipment and riggings to move heavy materials.
• Assists with estimating time, costs, and resources for activities.
• Inspects work for compliance with contract plans and specs.
