Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking a skilled structural steel erector to layout, install, assemble and erect steel components per blueprints and specs. The role requires loading, positioning, welding or bolting, and signaling for crane operations on construction sites.

You will read specifications, verify alignment, cut and weld steel, and work with hand and power tools while maintaining safety and efficiency on-site.

Qualifications

• Reads specifications or blueprints to determine locations, quantities, or sizes of material required.
• Able to interpret drawings and measurements accurately for steel erection.
• Demonstrates safe handling of tools and adherence to safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints to determine locations and sizes of materials.
• Fabricates or shapes metal parts per drawings or supervisor instructions.
• Unloads and positions prefabricated steel units for hoisting, signaling operators to lift.
• Verifies alignment of steel members using plumb bobs, lasers, or levels.
• Cuts, bends, or welds steel pieces with appropriate equipment.
• Assembles hoisting equipment to move heavy components.
• Estimates time, costs, and materials needed for tasks.
• Inspects and ensures work complies with contract plans and specs.
