Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking skilled structural steel erectors in the United States. The role involves reading blueprints, fabricating and assembling steel components, and guiding hoisting operations with cranes. You will verify alignment and ensure precise placement of members in accordance with contract plans.

Responsibilities include cutting, welding, bolting, and riveting assemblies, plus rigging setup and on-site coordination while meeting safety standards and project timelines.

Qualifications

• Reads specifications or blueprints to determine material quantities and sizes.
• Proficient in safe use of electrical, hand and power tools and layout devices.
• Understands written and oral instructions and communicates with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints to plan material locations and quantities.
• Fabricates or guides fabrication of steel frames, beams, girders per plans.
• Unloads prefabricated units and positions with cranes or signals hoists.
• Checks alignment of steel members using plumb bobs, lasers, or levels.
• Cuts, bends or welds steel pieces with torches and equipment.
• Joins members for permanent riveting, bolting, or welding.
• Sets up rigging and hoisting equipment to move heavy components.
• Estimates sizes, distances, times, costs and materials for work.
• Inspects subordinate work for contract compliance and correctness.
