Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an experienced Ironworker Journeyman for layout, installation, assembly, and steel erection in a power plant/industrial setting. This role requires reading blueprints, fabricating steel components, and coordinating with crane operators on-site.

Candidates should be skilled in using lasers, plumb bobs, and levels to verify alignment, with the ability to bend, cut, or weld steel and assemble rigging for heavy equipment movement.

Qualifications

• Ironworker Journeyman with power plant / industrial experience.
• Strong working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate with supervision.
• Proficient with electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Reads specifications or blueprints to determine material locations and quantities.
• Fabricates metal parts according to blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Unloads and positions prefabricated steel and hoists beams with cranes.
• Verifies alignment of structural steel members using plumb bobs or laser levels.
• Cuts, bends or welds steel pieces using appropriate tools.
• Assembles riggings to move heavy equipment or materials.
• Estimates sizes, distances, and quantities for work activities.
• Inspects workers' output for compliance with plans and corrects deficiencies.
