Job summary

Aerotek in Zachary, LA is seeking a Structural Fitter/Welder to read blueprints, set up beams and columns, and perform MIG welding in a manufacturing environment.

The role requires ability to cut and grind structural steel and work both independently and as part of a team. This contract-to-hire position features a 6 AM–4:30 PM schedule with potential shift expansion.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications.

• Set up and fit beams and columns according to blueprint requirements.

• Perform MIG welding tasks with precision and accuracy.

• Conduct cutting and grinding activities on structural steel.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in reading blueprints, including understanding hidden versus solid lines.

• Experience in MIG welding and structural fitting.

• Skilled in cutting and grinding structural steel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing facility dedicated to building water intake screens. The shop is non-temperature regulated. The current schedule is Monday to Thursday, 6 AM to 4:30 PM, with plans to add a second shift from Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM to 11 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Zachary, LA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
