Job summary

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a Structural Engineer to lead the structural design on a portfolio of projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes and adherence to codes and standards. The role involves complex analysis, drawing preparation, and close teamwork with multi-discipline groups.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of structural experience, proficiency with RISA/STAAD, and a path toward PE or SE licensure. Hybrid work is preferred, with offices across major western US and Hawaii regions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• Experience in structural design and understanding of construction processes.
• Proven track record of reviewing shop drawings and RFIs in a construction setting.
• FE exam passed or in progress (Engineer in Training).
• Potential progression toward SE licensure or SMS competencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of concrete, steel, aluminum, and masonry structures.
• Conduct existing conditions investigation and prepare associated reports.
• Prepare structural drawings and specifications in compliance with building codes.
• Engage in cross-discipline coordination with other disciplines and team members.
• Provide construction phase support including shop drawings reviews, RFI responses, change orders, and substitutions.
