Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Project Lead Structural Engineer to guide a team of structural engineers and interface with clients across multiple disciplines. This role manages diverse projects from concept through construction, ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables and mentorship to junior staff.

You will lead calculations, reviews, and design documentation, and travel to client sites and plants for coordination and verification.

Qualifications

• BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Ten or more years of experience on a project team for industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear facility structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
• Proficiency with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel and concrete design in project execution.
• Work on a wide range of projects for various clients and interface with them as required.
• Direct the preparation and review of design calculations, specs, reports and deliverables; support designers in drawings.
• Supervise and mentor others in developing quality engineering deliverables.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, concrete members, and foundations using computer tools.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and field verification of designs.
