Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Phoenix, AZ to support the Power group in design, data collection, and project tasks. You will assist lead engineers, prepare presentations, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts while maintaining academic eligibility and community involvement.

The role emphasizes strong communication, analytical skills, and self-motivation, with a path to gaining practical industry experience in decarbonization technologies and power project

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience is a plus.
• Active involvement in campus/community activities is encouraged.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook expected.
• Demonstrated leadership and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead engineers with project duties and standard design tasks.
• Support data collection, analysis, and documentation for projects.
• Contribute to Power group initiatives and presentations.
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations and reports for stakeholders.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts and research solutions.
