Job summary

IMEG, a 100% employee-owned firm, is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern in Los Angeles, CA for a 10–12 week summer program. You will assist in design, documentation, and site observations for commercial and institutional projects, gaining hands-on experience under skilled mentors.

This paid internship emphasizes real project work, collaboration across disciplines, and exposure to SE2050 sustainable design goals within a national, ESOP-owned practice.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong interest in design consulting and collaboration across disciplines.
• Ability to communicate clearly in written and oral form.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project design for structural systems in accordance with codes and IMEG standards.
• Assist with researching and locating project resources.
• Support client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent-record documentation.
• Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, supplier, and other disciplines.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring design progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final review.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job-site observations and provide contract-required services.
