Job summary

IMEG is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern in San Francisco, CA for a 10–12 week summer program. You will work with experienced engineers on analysis, design, and implementation of structural systems in buildings and other structures.

The internship runs 10–12 weeks, with project design, coordination, and site observations, supporting commercial and institutional work while aligning with sustainable design goals including SE2050.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project design for discipline systems per code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with project research and resource identification.
• Assist with client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent-record documentation.
• Assist with design and schedule coordination across architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, supplier, and other disciplines.
• Assist with documenting design decisions, client meetings, and instructions while monitoring project design progress.
• Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check requests.
• Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job-site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement.
