Job summary

IMEG is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern in Ontario, CA for a 10-12 week summer program. You will assist with design of structural systems, research resources, and coordinate with multiple disciplines, while gaining real project experience under a mentor in a 100% employee-owned firm.

You’ll contribute to project design notebooks, documentation, and field observations for commercial and institutional work and learn about sustainable design goals including SE2050 during the internship

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering (2 years completed)
• Strong interest in design consulting and structural projects
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Able to communicate clearly in writing and speaking
• Prior internship in building design is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist with project design for structural systems following codes and IMEG standards.
• Support research of project resources and documentation.
• Assist with coordinating design and schedules with multiple disciplines.
• Document design decisions and client instructions during progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy before final review.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic site observations and support contract services.
