Job summary

IMEG, an employee-owned firm, is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern in Naperville, IL for a 10-12 week summer program. You will assist in analyzing and designing structural systems, coordinating with multiple teams, and supporting project documentation and site observations.

The internship offers hands-on experience across commercial and institutional markets, with mentorship and potential full-time path.

Qualifications

Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
Proficient with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Skilled in AutoCAD and BIM software.
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

Assist with structural system design tasks for projects in accordance with code and IMEG standards.
Research project-related resources and supporting information.
Support client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files.
Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and supplier teams.
Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring design progress.
Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check.
Prepare and issue addendum information.
Conduct periodic job site observations and support other services required by the contract services agreement.
Work within the project’s monetary budget while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
