Job summary

IMEG, 100% employee-owned, is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern in St. Louis, MO for a 10-12 week Summer program. You will support the analysis, design, and implementation of structural systems for buildings under experienced engineers.

Over the 10-12 week schedule, you’ll assist with project documentation, coordination across disciplines, and site observations while helping the team meet project goals and client expectations within budget.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is expected
• Experience with AutoCAD and BIM software is preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural analysis, design, and implementation of structural systems in buildings within budget.
• Assist with design portions of projects according to code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with researching resources and project information.
• Support client relations and document permanent records.
• Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, electrical, mechanical, and other teams.
• Document design decisions and meetings promptly while monitoring progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy before final checks.
• Prepare and issue addendum information as needed.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and related services.
