Job summary

IMEG Corporation in Naperville, IL seeks a Structural Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week summer program. You will assist in analysis, design, and implementation of structural systems while collaborating with experienced engineers and consultants.

You'll support project documentation, coordination, and site observations, contributing to multiple markets including commercial and institutional. This paid internship offers mentorship and a clear path to full-time roles within IMEG.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years toward a BS in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Skilled in AutoCAD and BIM software.
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural system design tasks for projects in accordance with code and IMEG standards.
• Research project-related resources and supporting information.
• Support client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files.
• Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and supplier teams.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring design progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and support other services required by the contract services agreement.
• Work within the project's monetary budget while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
