Job summary

IMEG Corp seeks a Structural Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week summer program in Naperville, IL. You will assist in analyzing and designing structural systems and support project documentation and site observations under the guidance of experienced engineers.

This paid internship offers hands-on project work, mentorship, and potential pathway to full-time opportunities within IMEG while contributing to projects across commercial and institutional markets in the Midwest.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Civil/Structural/Architectural Eng, with at least 2 years completed.
• Strong interest in design consulting; proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Preferred prior internship in building design consulting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural system design tasks per code and IMEG standards.
• Research project resources and supporting information.
• Support client relations, maintain project design notebook, and document for permanent records.
• Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and supplier teams.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while tracking progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and support other contract services as required.
• Work within the project budget while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet goals.
