Job summary

STV is seeking a Structural Engineering Specialist to join our Water Practice team from Austin, Dallas, Houston or Oklahoma City locations. STV focuses on planning, engineering, and construction of water and wastewater facilities, with involvement from design through close-out.

You will perform design and analysis, develop plans, review drawings, and collaborate with the team on design options; limited travel and field work apply. FE/EIT and software proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• FE exam (EIT) required.
• Limited travel and field work.
• Proficiency with structural design software (STAAD.PRO, SAP2000, RISA 3D, SPCOLUMN, LPILE, HILTI, AutoCAD CIVIL 3D). Experience with Autodesk REVIT is beneficial.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. with a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis calculations per codes and standards.
• Develop structural plans, design, and layout.
• Provide drawings/sketches for construction drawings by drafters.
• Research design options and prepare load combinations.
• Review shop drawings and prepare engineering design documents.
• Attend project meetings and communicate progress to the team.
• Perform field observations of construction progress and conditions.
• Support cost estimating with take-offs and quotes.
