Job summary

STV is seeking a Structural Engineering Specialist to join the Water Practice in our Austin, Dallas, Houston, or Oklahoma City offices. You will perform structural design and analysis, develop plans, and prepare drawings for construction.

Field observations and team coordination are essential for project success. Qualifications include a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, FE (EIT), proficiency with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, Civil 3D, and eligibility to work in the U.S.; some travel may be

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• FE exam (EIT) completed or in progress.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. and possess a valid driver's license.
• Proficiency with finite element and design software listed above.
• Limited travel and field work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis calculations using codes and standards.
• Develop structural plans and layouts for projects.
• Provide drawings/sketches for construction drawings by drafters.
• Research design options and prepare load combinations.
• Review shop drawings and use CAE software to prepare documents.
• Attend project meetings and perform field observations.
• Communicate progress and issues to the design team clearly.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
