Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join a project team and support the execution of substations' structural work. You will assist engineers with calculations, drawings, and design tasks on a summer 2027 start date.

You will apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel and concrete design, and collaborate with a team of engineers and designers to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions for evolving substations.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in BS/MS in Structural/Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• Interest in materials behavior, structural analysis, steel and concrete design.
• Good verbal and written communication with strong PC skills.
• Familiarity with design codes such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Review structural design drawings and vendor drawings.
• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel design, reinforced concrete design.
• Support a team of engineers in structural analysis and design of steel structures, concrete members, foundations.
