Job summary

Sargent & Lundy invites motivated Structural Engineering Interns to join a project team in Maryland. You will assist in calculations, drawings review, and design work related to substations and related structures under experienced engineers.

The role emphasizes materials behavior, structural analysis, and reinforced concrete design, with opportunities to learn and apply automation and AI tools to improve workflows. Ideal for undergrad/grad students pursuing civil/structural engineering.

Qualifications

Active enrollment in a BSCE or MSCE in Structural/Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
Strong academic background with interest in materials behavior, structural analysis, steel design, reinforced concrete design and foundation design.
Strong verbal and written communication and PC skills.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
Assist in the review of structural design drawings and vendor drawings.
Directly apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.
Be assigned to support a team of engineers and designers in performing structural analysis and design of steel structures, connections, concrete members, platforms, and foundations.
