Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in New Jersey is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join a project team and assist engineers in designing and analyzing substation structures, components, and foundations, gaining hands-on experience in concrete and steel design. You will work under engineers on calculations, drawings review, and apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, and industry codes.

This internship starts in summer 2027 and offers exposure to automation tools and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• Strong academic background with interest in materials, structural analysis, steel and reinforced concrete design.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with strong PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Review structural design drawings and vendor drawings.
• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel design, reinforced concrete design, and foundations.
• Support a team of engineers in structural analysis and design of steel structures, connections, concrete members, platforms, and foundations.
