Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Minneapolis seeks a Structural Engineering Intern to join a project team and assist engineers with design of power plant structures. Summer 2027 start date. You will gain hands-on experience in calculations, reviews, and applying steel and concrete design concepts.

Under supervision, you will support a team performing structural analysis and design of frames, foundations, and supports, with exposure to automated tools and modern engineering workflows.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in ABET-accredited Structural/Civil Eng program preferred.
• Coursework in steel and concrete design preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Review structural design drawings and vendor drawings.
• Directly apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.
• Support a team of engineers in performing structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, and foundations.
