Job summary

Day & Zimmermann seeks a Structural Engineer III for the D&Z MC - Engineering division in Greenville, SC. You will lead detailed structural analyses and designs for foundations, concrete and steel frames, while guiding the design team to meet safety and industry standards.

You will mentor engineers, manage scope, budget, and schedules, and coordinate with specialists to deliver projects across solar, industrial, and power markets. This role emphasizes accountability and collaboration.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited B.S. in Civil Engineering required.
Master of Science in Structural Engineering preferred.
Minimum 6 years of progressive structural engineering experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) licensure desirable.
Strong leadership, communication, and project-management abilities.
Familiarity with ACI, AISC, IBC and ASCE standards.

Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and validate structural calculations, sketches, and specifications, supporting design drawings.
Provide technical leadership by reviewing vendor documentation and shop drawings.
Manage project scope and scheduling to ensure timely delivery and budget compliance.
Coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts with teams, subcontractors, and clients.
Oversee QA of design documents and ensure code compliance.
Stamp documents as PE/SE where licensed.
