Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting seeks a Structural Engineer II to join the Facilities Engineering group in Duluth, MN. The role involves evaluating, selecting, and applying established structural techniques, developing practical design solutions, and ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

The position requires a ABET-accredited civil/structural engineering degree, 2+ years of structural experience, and EIT or ability to obtain in 6 months. Collaboration with designers and clients is essential.

Qualifications

• EIT required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 2+ years’ experience as a structural engineer.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Familiar with design codes (ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318).

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis calculations per codes and standards.
• Layout and detail project components under supervision.
• Provide CAD drawings or sketches for designers/drafters.
• Review drawings and document design options for Engineer of Record.
• Lead project efforts and supervise other engineers as needed.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, and other professionals.
