Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Structural Engineer II in Minneapolis to join our Facilities Engineering team. This mid-level role involves project engineering tasks, applying established structural design techniques, preparing drawings and calculations, and ensuring code compliance.

The ideal candidate has a Civil/Structural ABET-accredited degree, 2+ years of experience, and is or can become an EIT within 6 months.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil/Structural engineering degree.
• 2+ years of structural engineering experience.
• EIT required or able to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficiency with design software and codes is preferred.
• Knowledge of ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318 is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis in accordance with codes and standards.
• Layout and detail projects under supervision of Engineer of Record.
• Provide CAD drawings or sketches for Designers/Drafters.
• Research design options and document findings for Engineer of Record.
• Lead assigned projects and supervise other engineers as needed.
• Coordinate with Designers/Drafters to create drawings.
• Attend client meetings and document project details.
• Perform field activities to verify conditions and measurements.
• Organize, draft, and coordinate technical documents.
• Serve as project engineer leading design and engineering effort.
