Job summary

HDR is seeking a Structural Engineer to support its Hydropower Practice, providing design, repair and retrofit services for utility projects across the Southeast and beyond. You will work with a national team on challenging infrastructure projects that improve grid reliability and public safety.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil/Structural engineering degree, a PE license, and experience in structural design with professional engineering firms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• Professional engineering license (PE or P.Eng) recognized by licensing board for position location.
• Previous structural engineer experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAP, STAAD, SAFE or similar.
• Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Review structural documents for conflicts with other disciplines.
• Write and edit structural specifications and select procedures.
• Coordinate the structural design team through design development and construction phases.
• Lead meetings with governing agencies for code compliance.
• Conduct design development and document work sessions at project sites.
• Coordinate workload through design development and construction document phases.
• Coordinate with affected disciplines and process changes into documents.
• Perform other duties as needed.
