Job summary

HDR is seeking a Structural Engineer to support the Hydropower Practice across multiple Southeast locations. The role focuses on design, review, and coordination of structural systems for dam and power facilities.

You will work with an employee-owned team delivering reliable infrastructure while developing leadership skills and advancing your career. Required qualifications include a Civil/Structural Engineering degree and a PE license, plus experience with structural design software and client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and PE license are required.
• Previous structural engineer experience in engineering consulting or similar environment is expected.
• Proficiency with structural analysis/design software (AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, ETABS, RAM, SAFE).
• Strong communication and coordination with multi-discipline teams is essential.

Responsibilities

• Review structural documents for conflicts with other disciplines.
• Write and edit structural specifications and calculations.
• Coordinate the structural design team through development to construction documents.
• Lead meetings with agencies for code compliance and approvals.
• Conduct site visits for design development and documentation sessions.
• Coordinate with related disciplines and incorporate changes into documents.
• Manage workload to meet project schedules.
• Perform other duties as needed.
