Job summary

HDR is seeking a Structural Engineer to support our Hydropower Practice across the Southeast. You will review structural documents, perform calculations and coordinate the design team through development and construction documents.

The role includes field inspections at operating facilities, client interaction, and leading projects from proposal to completion in our employee-owned culture that values collaboration, reliability and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• PE license recognized by licensing board (e.g., PE or P.Eng).
• Previous structural engineer experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, STAAD, SAFE or similar.

Responsibilities

• Review structural documents for conflicts with all disciplines.
• Write and edit structural specifications, select procedures and materials; perform calculations.
• Coordinate the structural design team through design development and CD phases.
• Lead meetings and reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
• Conduct design development and CD work sessions at project sites with PM and other disciplines.
• Coordinate workload through design development and construction document phases to meet schedule.
• Incorporate changes from addenda, RFIs, change orders into documents.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
