Job summary

HDR is seeking a Structural Engineer to support the Hydropower Practice across the Southeast and beyond. You will design, repair and retrofit hydro structures, coordinating with PMs and multi-discipline teams to deliver compliant contract documents on schedule.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Civil/Structural Eng, a PE license, and experience in structural engineering within AE/consulting. HDR offers an employee-owned culture and opportunities across multiple U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent
• PE or licensed professional engineer per location requirements
• Experience in structural engineering for AE/engineering consulting firms
• Proficiency with structural software: AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAP, STAAD, SAFE, Tedds, RISA

Responsibilities

• Review structural documents for conflicts with other disciplines.
• Write and edit structural specifications and calculations.
• Coordinate the structural design team through development and CD phases.
• Lead meetings with agencies for code compliance and approvals.
• Perform design development and construction document sessions on site with PM and other disciplines.
• Coordinate workload across design phases to meet schedules.
• Manage addenda, RFIs, change proposals, and changes with all parties.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Masters degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
