RTX is offering a hybrid Co-Op position in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, designed for students pursuing a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. You will work with a multidisciplinary team on structural, ATF, and dynamics analyses, developing FEA/CFD models and supporting engineers with findings.

Residents of Puerto Rico at start are required; relocation is not offered. The program runs July through December with mentorship and hands-on project work in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • U.S. citizenship is required; eligible to access information for this program/contract.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in structural, ATF, and dynamics analyses.
  • Develop FEA/CFD models for program support across the life cycle.
  • Support lead engineers with analysis results through reports and presentations.
  • Help create automated workflows for FEA/CFD preprocessing and data management.
  • Explore AI/ML techniques to improve model fidelity and analysis turnaround.
  • Communicate in English with customers and teammates.

Immerse yourself in a Monday-Friday Co-Op session, that will run from July to December (it is expected students will take this time off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity). This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What you will do:
  • Gain knowledge in analysis in areas including, but not limited to, structural, ATF, dynamics.
  • Gain knowledge in development of FEA/CFD models for program support throughout the life cycle process.
  • Support lead engineers to provide analysis results and recommendations through detailed documentation, formal reports, and presentations for management and customers.
  • Support development of automated workflows for FEA/CFD preprocessing, post-processing, and data management through programming and AI tools.
  • Explore opportunities to leverage AI/ML techniques to improve model fidelity, accelerate analysis turnaround, or enhance engineering decision-making.
  • English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.
Qualifications you must have:
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or applicable discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the information under this program/contract.
