RTX in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, is offering a Monday–Friday Co-Op internship from January to June. The program is designed for enrolled engineering students in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil disciplines who will reside in Puerto Rico at start and work in a hybrid environment with three days onsite and two days remote.

You will redact technical documentation, develop relationships with customers, and support MRO processes while applying stress and fracture mechanics concepts.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in Mechanical, Aerospace or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen; access may require US citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) processes.
  • Perform structural assessments for stress analysis, vibration, low cycle fatigue life and residual life (fracture mechanics) prediction.
  • Participate as an active member in cross-discipline teams to provide design solutions balancing performance, cost, schedule and quality.
  • Develop and incorporate new ways to advance technology and improve processes as an individual and as a team contributor.
  • Embrace a continuous improvement philosophy.

Immerse yourself in a Monday-Friday Co-Op session, that will run from January to June (it is expected students will take this time off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity). This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What You Will Learn

What You Will Do

Qualifications You Must Have

Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in an applicable field of study: Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering.

Minimum GPA of 3.0

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

Completed courses in material sciences, mechanics of materials, material failure analysis or manufacturing process.

Aftermarket and Sustainment Engineering executes both military and commercial repair design and repairs substantiations for engines. We create and improve ASE business and repair development tools. We design, develop, and qualify military repair tooling. In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work. We’ve introduced role types to help you understand how you will operate in our blended work environment. This position is classified: Hybrid. Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on a regular basis with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.
