Job summary

CannonDesign in Buffalo seeks a Civil/Structural engineer-in-training to join a multi-disciplinary team under a licensed engineer. Responsibilities include developing new or analyzing existing structures for educational, healthcare, sports, and corporate facilities, and producing Contract Documents.

The role requires a Bachelor in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis (Master preferred), internship experience, and proficiency with Revit, RAM, and RISA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Civil Engineering with a Structural focus required by hire date.
• Master degree preferred.
• Related internship experience preferred.
• EIT and LEED accreditation preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork and multi-project capability.
• Experience with engineering design software (Revit, RAM, RISA) required.

Responsibilities

• Develop new or analyze existing structural systems under supervision.
• Perform design calculations under an experienced engineer.
• Use software to design and document structural systems.
• Develop BIM models in Revit for Contract Documents.
• Produce foundation, floor, roof plans, sections and details.
• Coordinate structural systems with overall building design.
• Review shop drawings during construction; site observations allowed.
• Overtime may be required.
