Job summary
CannonDesign is seeking a Civil Engineer with a structural focus to contribute to designing and analyzing structural systems for educational, healthcare, sports, corporate, and science/tech facilities in the San Diego area.
The role requires collaboration with senior engineers, proficiency in Revit, RAM, and RISA, and the ability to develop Contract Documents. Overtime may be required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural focus; Master preferred.
- Internship experience preferred.
- EIT or LEED accreditation preferred.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Experience with engineering software (Revit, RAM, RISA) required.
Responsibilities
- Work with a structural engineer to develop or analyze structural systems for institutional, sports, and corporate buildings.
- Perform design calculations under supervision.
- Use engineering software to design and document structural systems.
- Develop BIM models using Autodesk Revit for Contract Documents.
- Assist in producing Contract Documents (foundation plans, floor/roof plans, sections, details, specs).
- Coordinate structural systems with overall building design.
- Review shop drawings during construction and perform site observations.
- Willing to perform overtime.
- May perform other duties as required.
