Job summary
CannonDesign in Buffalo, NY seeks a civil/structural engineer to join a multidisciplinary team under a licensed engineer. You will develop and analyze structural systems for educational, healthcare, sports, corporate, and science/tech projects, and prepare contract documents.
You will use Revit for BIM, perform design calculations under supervision, coordinate with the design team, review shop drawings, and may conduct field observations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor in Civil Engineering with a structural focus is required by hire date.
Responsibilities
- Work with a structural engineer to develop or analyze structural systems for institutional, sports, and corporate/commercial buildings.
- Perform design calculations under supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Use engineering software to design and document structural systems.
- Develop BIM models in Revit to produce contract documents.
- Assist in producing contract documents—foundations, floor framing, roof plans, sections, details, and specs.
- Coordinate structural systems with overall building design.
- Assist in reviewing shop drawings and may conduct site observations.
- May perform overtime and other duties as required.
