Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a structural designer to contribute to multi-disciplinary teams on 3D plant layout projects. You will develop drawings, design structural supports and foundations, and help troubleshoot complex design issues.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with opportunities to mentor less experienced drafters and collaborate across engineering disciplines in power plant design.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of detailed design experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete drawings.
• Ability to interface with engineering and design teams across disciplines in power plant design.
• Proficiency with design software tools to execute 3D plant layout models.
• Experience reviewing structural layout drawings for steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural physical layout drawings in a 3D model within multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Design structural supports and foundations, troubleshoot and solve design issues.
• Use 3D modeling software to generate structural schematics.
• Coordinate detailed design phases for an integrated structural design model.
• Mentor junior drafters and provide guidance on drafting tools.
