Job summary

Black & Veatch, an employee-owned engineering leader, seeks a Structural Staff Engineering Technician – Advanced Power Generation to join the VDDS team. You will support design, analysis, and detailing of structural foundations and steel models for APG projects using Bentley Open Buildings, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Bluebeam, under supervision.

Hybrid work options after 90 days; primary onsite in multiple US locations including Dallas, with a focus on delivering high-quality technical

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate preferred. Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
• Typically a minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements including background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Functions in a project engineering technician capacity.
• Develops and modifies technical deliverables for engineering and design teams.
• Uses CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling to create and maintain technical drawings and documents.
• Provides technical guidance to other engineers and technicians to ensure quality across outputs.
• Applies BV standards and codes to ensure project compliance.
• Coordinates with design group personnel to review project information.
