Job summary

Black & Veatch is hiring a Structural Associate Engineering Technician for Advanced Power Generation. The role supports multidisciplinary teams, focuses on structural foundation and steel models, and uses Bentley OpenBuildings, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Bluebeam.

Under supervision, you will create and modify complex drawings, contribute to project deliverables, and mentor junior technicians. Hybrid work options apply after onboarding, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Typically, a minimum of 2 years related work experience.
• Pre-employment onboarding requirements may include background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, per applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Supports engineering teams under general supervision.
• Performs technical tasks with intermediate knowledge of engineering principles.
• Uses CAD/BIM/3D modeling tools.
• Creates, updates, and maintains drawings and project deliverables.
• Mentors junior technicians and shares knowledge.
• Keeps up to date with BV standards and procedures.
• Applies BV Quality Program to ensure compliant deliverables.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and drives continuous improvement.
• Develops project deliverables from various design inputs.
• Performs basic material quantity estimates and dimensional checks.
• Coordinates with other project groups to minimize errors.
• Assists internal clients while understanding external priorities.
