Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Structural Engineering Technician for Advanced Power Generation. The role supports multidisciplinary project teams on APG efforts, creating and modifying structural models using Bentley OpenBuildings, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.

You may supervise staff and provide training to ensure quality and consistency across deliverables. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after 90 days.

Qualifications

• Typically a minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Pre-employment onboarding requirements may include criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
• Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment.
• Experience in design and drafting within engineering projects and adherence to project standards.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a senior engineering technician, technical design specialist, and/or supervisor.
• Applies advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges.
• Provides consultation, training, and oversight to other engineering technicians.
• Uses CAD/BIM tools to create, modify, and maintain technical drawings and models.
• Ensures deliverables comply with applicable codes and standards.
• May coordinate with other design groups to exchange information.
