Job summary
Black & Veatch Corporation seeks a Senior Structural Engineering Technician (Advanced Power Generation) to support design, analysis, and detailing of steel and foundation elements for APG projects. You will create and modify structural models and drawings using Bentley OpenBuildings, AutoCAD, and MicroStation, and mentor other technicians.
The role emphasizes technical guidance, adherence to standards, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across lifecycle phases, with hybrid work
Qualifications
- Typically a minimum of 11 years related work experience.
- Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology required.
- Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
Responsibilities
- Functions as a senior engineering technician, technical design specialist, and/or supervisor.
- Applies advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges within a specific engineering discipline.
- Uses CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling tools with standardized procedures to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation and drawings.
- Provides guidance, training, and oversight to other engineering technicians to ensure quality and consistency.
- Reviews project requirements to determine correct formats and deliverable content.
- Ensures deliverables comply with applicable codes and standards.
