Job summary

DeSimone Consulting Engineering seeks a structural engineer to contribute to the design process across diverse projects, under the guidance of senior team members. You will perform analysis, assist in development, and support delivery from concept through construction.

The role requires a BS in structural/civil engineering (ABET-accredited) with internship exposure, coursework in concrete/steel/wood/masonry, and proficiency in Rhino and Revit, plus strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with 1+ years of relevant coursework in structural analysis and design.
• Internship experience with a structural engineering firm exposing mid to high-rise building projects.
• Coursework in concrete, steel, wood and masonry design.
• Must pass a basic engineering skills test.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis using software tools such as Revit and Rhino.
• Model building foundation and superstructure systems and design structural elements.
• Prepare structural drawings, technical reports, and documentation.
• Conduct field observations and inspections under senior guidance.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain clear records of all design calculations and work products.
• Communicate effectively with teammates, clients, and management to ensure project success.
• Support project planning and contribute to internal operations, including timesheets and compliance with safety standards.
