Job summary

DeSimone Consulting Engineering seeks an Engineer to contribute to the structural design process across a variety of projects, under the guidance of senior team members. You will perform structural analysis, assist in design development, and support project delivery from concept through construction.

You will gain hands-on experience with design software such as Revit and Rhino, conduct field observations, prepare drawings and reports, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Structural or Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program and 1+ year of relevant coursework
• Internship experience with structural engineering firm on mid to high-rise projects
• Coursework in concrete, steel, wood and masonry design
• Must pass basic engineering skills test
• Ability to learn local and national building codes
• Knowledge of standard construction practices and working with contractors
• Proficiency in Rhino and Revit
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Detail-oriented with strong people and team skills

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis using software such as Revit and Rhino
• Model building foundations and superstructure systems and design structural elements
• Prepare structural drawings, technical reports, and documentation
• Conduct field observations and inspections under senior guidance
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs for accuracy and compliance
• Maintain clear records of all design calculations and work products
• Communicate effectively with teammates, clients, and management
• Support project planning and internal operations, including timesheets and safety compliance
