Job summary

Kiewit seeks a mid to senior‑level Structural Design Engineer to join the Design Engineering team. Based in Tempe, AZ or other offices, you will develop structural designs, perform calculations, and prepare drawings for power generation projects, coordinating with EPC, construction, and vendors to ensure safe, cost‑effective execution.

Apply ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, IBC standards; PE licensure is preferred. Strong written and verbal English communication is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural engineering from an ABET‑accredited four‑year program.
At least 5‑years of experience in structural engineering and design.
Experience in the power industry or industrial markets preferred.
Proficiency with engineering software and standards (SAP2000, SAFE, Mathcad; ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, IBC).

Responsibilities

Prepare designs for assigned structures, perform analyses, and draw plans for power generation projects.
Apply department and industry standards when preparing calculations and drawings.
Meet EPC project requirements and contractor/customer specifications.
Coordinate with cross‑discipline teams, vendors, and owners on structural issues.
Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets and monitor progress.
Support managers in achieving departmental performance goals.
