Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering seeks a Senior Structural Design Engineer for our Design Engineering team in the Phoenix/Tempe area. The role supports construction through innovative design, structural calculations, and development of plans while ensuring safety and cost-efficiency.

The position requires a Civil Engineering degree and 10–20 years of relevant experience, with leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills. Travel to project sites may be required as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 10–20 years of relevant experience in Industrial or Power Generation.
• Ability to train and lead engineers and work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develops and checks less experienced engineers to solve design issues.
• Identifies alternate solutions that relate to quality and cost options.
• Generates solution strategies and coordinates work across groups.
• Reviews and corrects the work of engineers and designers on project documents.
• Leads projects with minimal supervision and guides others toward objectives.
• Interprets and applies codes and standards accurately.
• Plans work independently and manages multiple assignments.
